Beautifully framed mirrors can do more for your business than provide a place to check your teeth for spinach after lunch. When placed well, they can change the entire image of your business by strategically altering people’s perception of your space. Here are some ways you can use mirrors to change the feel of your office or business.

·         Create light in the space- Mirrors reflect and refract light, making it appear multiplied. They are a great way to add light to a space without calling in the   electrician.

·         Make it feel larger and airier- Mirrors can act a little like windows in that they make a space feel bigger and less closed in. They present the illusion of infinite space, which can make an environment more relaxing. Long, narrow mirrors hung horizontally are perfect for hallways or small rooms; they make the space seem less closed in. For low ceilings, use tall mirrors to elongate the space.

·         Add décor without adding clutter- Especially in entryways, mirrors are a great way to add décor without adding a lot of clutter. The appearance of clutter in entries makes a poor first impression on customers or clients. Framed mirrors look polished but not overdone.1

·         Hide ugly or unwanted architectural features- Is there a gigantic column that cuts your business’ space in half? Cover it with mirrors to make it “disappear”. Mirrors can be used to make building features that aren’t easily changed less noticeable.

3 Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Frames

Spring has sprung! With warmer weather and blooming flowers comes spring cleaning. We’re excited to get our homes spotless to welcome the new season, and we’re particularly looking forward to showing our frames a little love.

Start by Dusting
No matter the size, shape, or material of a frame, it collects dust. Along the top, along the bottom—your frames can collect more dust than you might think. Start your spring cleaning routine by dusting all of your frames with a feather duster or microfiber cloth. Make sure you dust along the top, sides, and front of both the frame and the glass.

Use the Right Cleaner
The wrong cleaner can damage your frames, so it’s important to use the right cleaner. For wood frames, it’s best to use a wood oil or another cleaner that’s specifically designed to preserve the natural beauty of the wood. For plastic frames, an all-purpose cleaner is a great option.

Don’t Forget to Clean the Glass
Keeping the glass in your frames clean will allow you to enjoy a clear view of your photos and art pieces. Taking the frame apart and cleaning the glass separately from the frame is a great option if your frame is made of wood or another material that may be damaged by the glass cleaner. If you would prefer not to take your frames apart, simply spray the glass cleaner onto your cloth instead of directly onto the glass. Want to take your cleaning to the next level? Use old newspapers and a vinegar/water mixture.

While cleaning, you may run into some old frames that need to be replaced or some photos or art pieces that you want to frame. Check out our Facebook page and available frames for inspiration!

The Perfect Frames to Enhance Bathroom Decor

bathroom decor

We tend not to think about our bathroom decor that often. We focus our attention on larger common rooms and bedrooms, but the bathroom is important too. When your house guests use the bathroom, they don’t have much else to do other than look around the room! Use this opportunity to show off your decor skills and creativity. Here’s how to do it!

Accents

  • The first thing you can do is add an accent color or colors to the room. If your current bathroom atmosphere is bland, add an accent wall. For example, if your entire bathroom is painted white, consider adding color to one of the walls. A soft blue is a calming color and is a great choice for many bathrooms, but any pop of color will add charm to the space!
  • You can also consider adding a wallpaper border. This can reflect personal interests. If you are the outdoorsy type, you can have a wallpaper border of forest photography. If you are a big fan of the ocean or luxury vacations, consider putting a wallpaper border of photos of the ocean or tropical fish. These types of wallpaper borders will give your bathroom a thematic element. This will be easy to work with if you want to correlate different themed towels and accessories.

Wall Space

If you have a lot of open wall space in your bathroom, consider adding a mirror or a quote.

  • Mirror – Having a mirror is a great idea. A floor length mirror, specifically, is convenient for your guests to check their overall appearance before they leave the bathroom. It is nice for you too! When you have company over, it is always nice to know how you look when you are socializing and entertaining.
  • Quotes – Quotes can be a perfect bathroom accent. You can frame funny things like, “Bathroom Rules: Wash, Brush, Floss, Flush” or something more genuine like, “Soap is to the body, what laughter is to the soul.” These quotes will be entertainment for your guests while they are in the bathroom. They will add flair to the regular blandness of the bathroom and can be a nice way to show off your creativity.

Frames

To hang your mirrors and printed quotes, accent frames from Frame Warehouse are perfect. They can help you bring personality and an ambiance to the space. Use neutral-colored frames for a thematic bathroom, so that the room doesn’t feel cluttered or overwhelming. Framed mirrors a great way to decorate and accent any space. You can use a few mirrors that vary in size to create a unique wall cluster. Implement other picture frames among the mirror cluster to add personality to your home decor.

It will cut down on the time you spend getting ready.

You can also place a full sized mirror in your bedroom or walk-in closet. Being able to see your full outfit in the same area where you change clothes is helpful when you’re getting ready for work, school, or a night out. A guest bedroom would look great with a framed full-length mirror, too!

Theme of the Room

A mirror in the bathroom is standard, but consider your frame options! Bathrooms can often be dull. Enhance the theme of your bathroom with an appropriate mirror frame, it can really help tie in the look.

As for bedroom mirrors, pick a frame that accents your bedding and your room colors. It will help bring the space together. You can even get creative with frame textures! Try something smooth for a sleek look or find a textured frame for a more antique vibe.
Use of Space

The use of mirrors can make a small space feel larger and more open. Use a framed mirror to add dimension to a room, or face a mirror toward a window to add a feeling of depth to the room. The room will reflect the window, and it will appear like there is a room within the room.

In a dimly lit room, utilize mirror placement to reflect light. This will enhance the lighting in rooms of any size. Try using one large mirror on a blank wall to open up the space for a fresh, airy style.
